We are really digging Ellery's Spring/Summer 2011 collection. Structured, light, sexy, edgy, feminine and progressive are just a few words that comes to mind. We posted some of our favorite looks from the collection. To view/purchase visit Ellery's website.
Inspired by Faye Dunaway's style in the classic movie Bonnie and Clyde, Susan Woo's S/S 2010 collection offers us a fine take on flowy fabrics mixed with power, structure, and feminity. However, what really makes Susan Woo so dope is that "all of the fabrics used are 100% all natural and sustainable and include organic wool, cotton and cashmere, they are also sourced from companies that have a strong envoironmental committment." I love Georgia Hardinge's take on pleates, graphics, folds and the architectural structure of garmets. HAUTE!! I encourage all to explore more at her blog.
Jojo and Malou gave their perception of a beauty pagent showcasing thier S/S 2010 collection.
All the multimedia geeks like us, who have a soft spot for perfectly executed videos and films, would love both video because of the great conceptualizations behind both look books.
Public School NYC's S/S 2001 collection offers great staple peices that every man should have in thier possession. A trench coat, leather bomber jacket, v-neck button down sweater, fresh pair of transitional boots (boots that can be worn with jeans or shorts), long khaki shorts and a man's vest. Also, the tie-dye jean jacket is pretty damn hot as well.
As all of us funky, fly, fresh folk are getting prepared for the spring/summer, I decided to give the ladies some inspiration. We absolutely adore Australian designer Josh Goot spring summer 2010 collection. The color palettes, graphics, patterns and fabric choices just appeals to our eye. Mr. Goot's collection is definitely for the funky, fly and fresh. Visit Josh Goot's websiteup for more information.
Fun, colorful, flirty, fresh and clean are just some descriptions to describe DuroOlowu's S/S 2010 collection. Prints, graphics and draping are key elements in his collection. To be honest, we just discovered him while reading our Fashion Indie newsletter. We were so excitedbecause we fell like we just discovered something great. Mr. Olowu was born in Nigeria, Olowu first started out as a lawyer before delving into fashion. His signature "Duro" dresses, with the empire waist billowing and the vivid prints, caught the eye of US and British Vogue. He eventually won "New Designer of the Year" in 2005 at the British Fashion Awards. He is influenced by both Nigeria and England in his designs, what with the innovative London and the culture of Lagos, his hometown. More images via Style
